Regardless of your personal politics, just vote. Please. Don't be one of those apathetic assholes who abstains because they think it's useless and that politics is all a sham and we have no say and blahblahblah. This is your right. If you are anything other than a white, educated man, at some point in this country's history, you were disenfranchised and couldn't vote. So act right, enjoy your hard-won power, and cast your vote, dammit.
In related news, this video is absolutely abhorrent. I don't know anyone in Colorado, but if you live there, PLEASE vote no on 62. Your people are acting apeshit if they think this kind of political advertisement is factual or okay.

If you have money, it's pretty easy to get an initiative on the ballot in Colorado. A lot of these wacky ones get their funding from outside of the state. They try to use Colorado to get their foot in the door before trying these measures on states with more rigorous processes.
ReplyDeleteSo please don't take this video as an indication of the political climate there! I lived there until recently, including two years ago when the personhood amendment was on the ballot for the first time. It was defeated 73% to 27% that time, and it looks like a similar margin this time.
That video, though, is almost a spoof of itself.
